Bomb blast in Islamabad kills 1, injures 2
October 5th, 2009 - 2:08 pm ICT by ANIIslamabad, Oct. 5 (ANI): A bomb explosion outside the UN’s World Food Programme offices in Islamabad on Monday killed one person and injures two others, police say.
“There was a blast in the street where a UN office is located. We have sent our team there. We don’t know the cause,” a police official said.
“It’s a blast near the WFP office. We exactly don’t know what sort of blast it was and what was its target.”
No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack so far.
Tariq Mehmood, a police official at the emergency response department, was quoted as saying: “Three injured people have been brought so far to the local hospital. It was a bomb blast, we are checking if it was a suicide attack.” (ANI)
