Islamabad, June 5 (IANS) Six people were killed Sunday in a car bomb attack in Pakistan’s Peshawar city while four more were killed in a blast in Punjab, media reports said.
Six people, including a woman and a child, were killed and 10 injured when a car was blasted by remote control in Peshawar’s Matni bazaar, said Urdu TV channel Dunya.
The injured were shifted to a hospital, Xinhua reported.
The Peshawar blast occurred around 9.30 a.m., about five hours after an explosion in Punjab’s Gujranwala city left four people dead and eight injured.
This blast took place on Sheikhupura road. Two buildings and three shops were flattened in the impact, Geo News reported.
Muhammad Iqbal, a spokesman of the bomb disposal squad, said the cause of the blast in Gujranwala could be ascertained only after the debris were cleared. After the blast, gas was leaking from a nearby pipeline.
Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani condemned the killings.
