Bhatti’s position in Pak cabinet will be offered to his family: Zardari

Karachi, Mar 3(ANI): The position fallen vacant after the assassination of Pakistan’s Minister for Minority Affairs, Shahbaz Bhatti, would be offered to one of his family members, President Asif Ali Zardari has said.
Zardari made these comments while addressing Sindh Assembly members belonging to the Pakistan People’s Party.
Bhatti was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Islamabad on Wednesday as he was leaving his house in Sector I-8 area of Islamabad.
He had joined former Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer in championing the case of Aasia Bibi, a Pakistani Christian woman who was sentenced to death last November for allegedly committing blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad.
The responsibility of the attack has been taken by Tehrik-e-Taliban-Pakistan, a militant outfit that is believed to be behind a string of terrorist attacks in the country.
Zardari said terrorists could not threaten the government or the PPP with their cowardly acts.
“We will not let the extremists succeed in their agenda,” he added. (ANI)
