Benazir to kick off election campaign from Dec 17December 11th, 2007 - 9:22 pm ICT by admin
Karachi, Dec 11 (ANI): Pakistan Peoples Party Chairperson Benazir Bhutto will start her election campaign from Sindh Province on December 17.
PPP president of Sindh province Qaim Ali Shah made this announcement at the inauguration of the party’s Election Monitoring Cell here.
Welcoming the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawazs (PML-N) decision to participate in the elections, Shah said the PPP committees would work to ensure a transparent election process in the province.
These committees would coordinate with all political parties, candidates, provincial and federal Election Commissions, diplomatic circles and the media.
Shah also accused the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) of pre-poll rigging by influencing appointments and transfers of government officials, The News reported.
The general and provincial elections in Pakistan are scheduled to be held on January 8 next year. (ANI)
