Karachi, Nov 17 (ANI): Former Pakistani premier Benazir Bhutto on Saturday evening reached Karachi after she was released from house arrest in Lahore.
Before her departure in Lahore, Bhutto said, that her protest for the restoration of democracy in the country would continue.
“We want restoration of democracy in our country. We say that Chief of Army Staff and President Pervez Musharraf should go. If press is under siege and judiciary is confined then Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) view point is that democracy cannot be achieved without fair elections,” Bhutto told reporters in Lahore.
The News reported that security has been tightened in Karachi following Bhutto’s arrival. Many barricades have come up in the city.
A large number of PPP workers were present at the airport to receive her and raised slogans in support of their leader. (ANI)
