Benazir asks Pak Govt to grant amnesty to Baloch leadersDecember 14th, 2007 - 3:38 pm ICT by admin
Karachi, Dec 14 (ANI): Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has asked the Pakistan Government to announce general amnesty in Balochistan and release all political prisoners in the province.
“My party (Pakistan Peoples Party) is concerned about the detention of leaders in Balochistan,” Benazir told reporters here.
She said the armed forces had been “over-engaged” in parts of the country.
Bhutto alleged that a plan had been prepared to rig the elections, adding that government resources were being used to help her rival candidates.
Meanwhile, Bhutto has withdrawn her nomination papers from NA-204, Larkana, and will now contest the general elections from only NA-207, the Daily Times reported. (ANI)
