Balochistan problems cannot be resolved at gunpoint: Sharif

Quetta, Nov 28 (ANI): Expressing concern over the worsening law and order situation in Balochistan, Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has said that the problems of the province cannot not be addressed through brute force or solved at gunpoint.
Sharif was addressing a news conference at a Quetta hotel, the Daily Times reports.
He also presided over a meeting of the Provincial Organising Committee, during which the party affairs and the prevailing political and law and order situation in the country were discussed.
“I urge the government to take concrete and revolutionary steps to resolve the problems in a political manner,” Sharif said.
The PML-N chief blamed former president Pervez Musharraf for the deteriorating law and order situation in the country.
“He (Musharraf) ordered deadly military operations in the hills, urban areas and issued directives to take action against sardars. Killing Nawab Akbar Bugti was a big mistake and created unrest in Balochistan,” he said, adding that the former military dictator had mishandled all the affairs of not only Balochistan, but also the entire country.
“Ironically, Musharraf is still repeatedly giving statements and defending his wrongdoings of the past and publicly saying that he would repeat his actions if faced with the same situations,” he added. (ANI)
