Baloch leaders call withdrawal of cases against nationalist leaders ‘cosmetic effort’
December 10th, 2009 - 5:10 pm ICT by ANIQuetta (Balochistan), Dec. 10 (ANI): Baloch leaders have rejected the provincial government’s decision to withdraw nearly 89 cases against various nationalist leaders, terming it as a ‘cosmetic effort’ by the government to pacify the annoyed leaders.
It may be noted that Chief Minister Aslam Raisani had directed the authorities to withdraw cases pending against various Baloch leaders, including Brahamdagh Bugti, Sardar Akhtar Mengal and Jamil Bugti.
Balochistan National Party (BNP) Secretary General, Habib Jalib Baloch, while rejecting the government’s decision, said that Raisani had made similar promise of withdrawing the cases when he took office, but nothing happened afterwards.
Baloch Students Organisation (BSO) president, Shahzaib Baloch said it was their steadfastness that finally compelled the government to withdraw the cases. (ANI)
