Yousuf Raza Gilani Islamabad, July 31 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Friday said that Baloch issue would be raised during bilateral talks with India when it resumes.

Gilani said the composite dialogue between both countries should be resumed as soon as possible as the delay would only benefit the militants.

Speaking at the inaugural function of new building of Islamabad Stock Exchange, Gilani reiterated that he had raised the Baloch issue during the meeting with his Indian counterpart Dr. Manmohan Singh at Sharm-el-Sheikh earlier this month.

He also appreciated Dr.Singh for his ‘bold’ address in Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

Gilani said Pakistan wants good relation with all neighbour countries, The News reports.

Gilani’s statement on Friday assumes significance in the wake of his ’success’ in having Balochistan introduced in a joint statement by India and Pakistan for the first time since the two countries achieved their independence from Britain in 1947.

The issue of Balochistan has dominated proceedings in the Indian Parliament for the past fortnight.

While the government of Prime Minister Singh has defended the statement in its entirety, the opposition has staged two walkouts demanding justification for its inclusion in the document. (ANI)
