Back channel diplomacy made substantial progress on Kashmir issue: Ex Pak FM
December 3rd, 2009 - 12:51 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Lahore, Dec.3 (ANI): Former Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri has said that backdoor diplomacy between India and Pakistan had made substantial progress on the long pending Kashmir issue.
Speaking at a seminar, Kasuri said the Kashmir issue would be resolved as soon as the relationship between the two countries becomes normal.
Commenting on the heightened tension between India and Pakistan in the wake of the Mumbai attacks, he said India would not wage war with Pakistan directly, instead it could start a proxy war by increasing infiltration in Balochistan and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
He blamed the previous regimes for Pakistan’s current chaotic situation, saying massive corruption on part of the rulers had left negative implications on the national morale.
Underlining the threat facing the country both from internal and external enemies, Kasuri urged the people of the country not to allow them to succeed in their objectives. (ANI)
