At least six militants killed in Pak’s Kurram region
March 5th, 2011 - 2:13 pm ICT by ANIPeshawar, Mar 5(ANI): At least six militants were killed and several others were wounded as Pakistani security forces attacked terrorist hideouts in the Kurram tribal region on Saturday.
The hideouts were situated in central Kurram’s Chanarak region and the surrounding areas, the Dawn reports.
At least two significant militant hideouts were destroyed in the army action.
The Pakistani military had earlier launched an operation in the tribal region and had managed to drive militants out of most areas in central Kurram.
However, militants continue to operate in areas surrounding central Kurram and in lower Kurram. (ANI)
