Americans carrying illegal weapon set free by Pak police
November 23rd, 2009 - 4:58 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Peshawar, Nov. 23 (ANI): Four American citizens carrying illegal weapons in Pakistan’s North Western Frontier Province were let go by the police due to orders from the higher authorities.
On Sunday, NWFP Police intercepted four Americans at a police check-post here.
Upon searching, the team spotted unlicensed sophisticated weapons in their custody.
To the shock of police personnel, duty officer leading the team at the check-post received a call from higher authorities and let the Americans go with their illegal weapons, The Nation reports.
A police official requesting anonymity confirmed the incident.
“Yes, the same incident was reported in vicinity of Hayatabad Police Station, however I am not allowed to unveil details,” he said. (ANI)
