The first South Asia art exhibition has been organized by South Asia Foundation (SAF) and is being held at Kashmir University premises in Srinagar.
Inaugurating the exhibition, Dr Ghazanfar said the aim of such events is to promote peace and unity among different people and religion.
“Our basic aim is to stay together. There should be peace and unity between all the religions and for this purpose, we have chosen Kashmir as a starting point for this kind of brotherhood, said Dr Ghazanfar.
Many Afghan artists are displaying their work in this exhibition and Latieefa Ahmad is one of them who is excited over participating in an exhibition outside her country.
“This is my first time in Kashmir and Im attending an exhibition out of country. I like it and it is cute,” said Latieefa Ahmad.
Indian artists also are excited who say such exhibitions help in understanding the condition prevalent in other countries.
“I think such kind of exhibitions should be organised as we come to know the conditions prevailing in their country,” said Milan Sharma, a woman artist from Jammu.
With militant violence having subsided, Kashmir valley is going through a phase of economic transformation and the measures such as these will go a long way in promoting peace and tranquility in the troubled state. (ANI)
