Af-Pak-US talks slated for May 3
May 1st, 2011 - 3:45 am ICT by IANSWashington, April 30 (IANS) Trilateral talks between the US, Pakistan and Afghanistan would be held in the Pakistani capital May 3, Islamabad’s Ambassador to Washington Hussain Haqqani has said here.
Haqqani said all the three countries were working together and would try for a resolution to the Afghan situation, the News International reported citing CNN.
“Ambassador Grossman (US special envoy for the region) and Pakistan’s foreign secretary (Salman Bashir) agreed that they are going to try and create a trilateral mechanism. They are having a meeting in Islamabad on the third of May,” Haqqani was quoted as saying.
