Mar 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Adam Gadahn, the United States born spokesperson of the terrorist outfit Al-Qaida has been taken into custody by authorities in Karachi, reports claim. The capture of the 31 year old most wanted terrorist came just hours after he posted a web video in which he urges the Muslims in America to initiate a vicious attack against U.S. However, officials in Washington are yet to confirm the news of the capture of Adam Gadahn, who features in CIA’s top ten most wanted list, with a $1 million reward on him.
The Pakistani intelligence forces have reportedly arrested the California born American, in the recent past with the help of a joint operation with the United States intelligence officials. It has been reported that after being nabbed in the suburban port city, the militant was shifted to Islamabad, where he is being interrogated by the authorities. However, conflicting reports have emerged about the identity of the terrorist who has been taken under custody, with a senior Pakistani official claiming that the suspected Al-Qaida operative captured was not Adam Gadahn. According to reports, a security official who refused to be identified, added that initially it was presumed that the captured terrorist was Adam Gadahn, but now its appears to be untrue.
If it turns out that the militant in custody is indeed the Al-Qaida spokesperson, it might prove to be a major achievement for the U.S. led war against the Islamic extremist outfit. Adam Gadahn is presumed to be the leader of foreign militant fighting against the U.S. forces in Afghanistan and a close accomplice of Osama bin Laden.
