Accreditation for ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier in Ireland closes in THREE days

July 21st, 2008 - 5:54 pm ICT by ANI -

Dubai, July 21 (ANI) The accreditation process for all media attending the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier (WT20 Qualifier) in Ireland is still open, but only for another three days. The tournament runs from August 2 to 5 at Stormont with the venue hosting 11 matches, an ICC statement issued here today said. At stake, apart from the pride of being the top Associate teams in this form of the game, will be three places in the ICC World Twenty20 2009 being staged in England. Both finalists and winner of the third and fourth place play-off from this event will qualify for the tournament which will take place at Lords, The Oval and Trent Bridge next June. The third place in the ICC WT20 2009 is dependent on Zimbabwe Crickets Board ratifying a decision taken by its officials during ICC Annual Conference week, to step back from the tournament. The WT20 Qualifier involves two groups of three teams. Ireland, Scotland and Bermuda make up Group A while Kenya, the Netherlands and Canada will fight it out for supremacy of Group B, the statement said. (ANI)
