Noida, June 3 (ANI): A major fire broke out in an industrial unit in Noida on Tuesday.
The fire broke out at 7 a.m. and engulfed the factory that manufactures electronic meters.
No casualties have been reported.
While the fire brigade is engaged in containing the fire, the authorities have sought the help of fire brigade units in the neighbouring areas to douse the flames.
It is little difficult to control the fire since the factory is involved in making goods related to plastic materials. For the time being we have ensured that the fire does not spread beyond this factory. Besides the fire brigade vehicles of this area and fire brigade vehicles from other stations like Ghaziabad are also being used. Other vehicles are on their way and we hope to control the fire in a couple of hours, said R. K. Chaturvedi, Senior Superintendent of Police, Noida.
As per locals the fire brigade reached the spot and was prompt in taking action.
Last month also a fire broke out in a garment factory at Noida that claimed the life of a worker and injured another one.
Noida is an important commercial and industrial hub having a large number of industrial units. (ANI)
