52 killed in Pakistan bus accident
August 5th, 2010 - 6:52 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, Aug 5 (IANS) At least 52 people were killed and 11 injured Thursday after their bus fell into a river in Pakistan, police said.
The ill-fated bus coming from Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, plunged into the Jhelum River near Ghari Duppata area, Xinhua reported.
Due to heavy rain and overspeeding, the driver lost control of the bus before it went into river, said Muhammad Imtiaz, the Deputy Commissioner of Muzaffarabad.
Eyewitnesses said that the bus was overloaded.
