29 pc of Malaysian men suffer from premature ejaculation: Study
November 9th, 2010 - 1:17 pm ICT by ANIKuala Lumpur, Nov 9 (ANI): A study has revealed that 29 percent of Malaysian men suffer from premature ejaculaton.
More astonishingly, 81 percent of the men agreed or strongly agreed that an increase in interval time for ejaculation will improve their overall relationship.
85 percent of the respondents also agreed or strongly agreed that an increase in interval time will improve a sexual relationship and from the total.
The study, which was conducted in over 10 countries in the Asia Pacific, involved more than 5,000 heterosexual men, between the ages of 18 and 65 who were involved or had sexual relationship for two years.
Despite the fact that PE affects a sizeable number of Malaysians, many choose to keep the problem to themselves.
President of the Malaysian Urological Association Azad Hassan Abdul Razack said men were shy to open up about their sexual problems.
“A bigger problem might arise if their PE is not addressed,” the Star Online quoted him as saying.
Though PE was not as serious as erectile dysfunction (ED), it contributed towards negative assumptions in a relationship and said most men were in a state of denial.
“They might say that it is only psychological, not real, their mind is playing tricks, or it is only a normal ageing process,” he said adding that men did not know where to seek help on the matter.
According to Azad, PE and ED were different, as he informed PE affects men even at an early age whereas ED mostly affects older men, above the age of 45. (ANI)
