27 killed in an earthquake at Pakistan
October 29th, 2008 - 9:54 am ICT by Amrit Rashmisrisethi A massive quake occurred in Pakistan’s South Western region measuring 6.4 Richter Scale on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 23:09:58 UTC and on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 06:09:58 AM PST as reported by the U.S. Geological Survey.
The death toll from Pakistan’s 6.4 magnitude earthquake has risen to at least 27 and 16 injured after the major earthquake brought down homes in Pakistan. Houses collapsed in Pakistan’s Ziarat District near Quetta.
The epicenter is 60 km (35 miles) NNE of Quetta, Pakistan, 185 km (115 miles) SE of Kandahar, Afghanistan, 195 km (120 miles) NNE of Kalat, Pakistan, 640 km (400 miles) WSW of ISLAMABAD, Pakistan with the depth of 15 km (9.3 miles) set by location program.
Earlier the same day, about half hour before a 5.2 Richter scale quake struck at Quetta.
