15 killed, 35 injured in Dera Ghazi Khan bomb blast
December 15th, 2009 - 6:13 pm ICT by ANIIslamabad, Dec. 15 (ANI): At least 15 persons were killed and 35 others injured in a powerful bomb blast in Dera Ghazi Khan on Tuesday.
The blast occurred at a Taxi stand near the residence of Provincial Minister and Senior Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Dost Mohammad Khosa.
The nature of the explosion was not known till the reports last cam in.
The blast was so powerful that many shops and houses located nearby were also destroyed.
Commissioner DG Khan, Hassan Iqbal said that 30 to 40 people are still feared trapped under the rubble of the destroyed buildings.
Relief and rescue services were pressed into service immediately after the blast and injured have been admitted to local hospitals, where a state of emergency has been declared. (ANI)
