Islamabad, Dec 10 (IANS) Eleven Taliban militants, including a rebel commander, were killed in fighting with the security forces in northwestern Pakistan, Xinhua reported Friday.
Three militants and a rebel commander were killed Thursday night in the Sararogha area of South Waziristan tribal region. Four soldiers were injured in the fighting.
Seven more militants were killed in the Swat valley in two clashes, officials said.
The army had declared victory against the militants in Swat earlier this year, months after troops launched major ground and air offensives against the Taliban in South Waziristan.
Thousands of people who were displaced in the fighting returned home in South Waziristan this week.
