Islamabad, Dec 17 (IANS) A total of 100 Pakistani students have been selected for a US government-funded undergraduate programme, a media report said.

US ambassador to Islamabad Cameron Munter congratulated the students ahead of their departure to the US Friday, the Daily Times reported Saturday.

The students would attend universities under the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (UGRAD).

Munter said this was one example of the US government’s long-term commitment to the education of Pakistani students and to increasing mutual understanding between both countries.

The UGRAD programme covers all costs for one semester of studies at an American university.
