10 killed in Pakistan suicide bomb blast (Third Lead)

Islamabad, Feb 22 (IANS) Ten people, including four security officials, were killed and 15 wounded Monday in a suicide bomb attack on a security convoy in northwest Pakistan, media reports said.
According to police, a suicide bomber blew himself up when a security convoy was passing through the Nishat chowk in Mingora city of North West Frontier Province (NWFP).
Eight vehicles of the convoy and six shops were destroyed.
The blast was so powerful that the windowpanes of nearby buildings were shattered, the Online news agency reported.
Mingora is located in the Swat district of NWFP.
Security forces have cordoned off the area after the attack.
Deputy Inspector General of Malakand Mohammad Idrees told reporters that it was a suicide attack.
Officials said the attack took place despite a curfew clamped in Mingora after reports that a suicide bomber had entered the city.
Dawn newspaper reported on its website that six people were killed and 12 wounded in a car bomb blast at Saidu Sharif bus stand in the city.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani condemned the attack.
In separate statements, they expressed grief over the loss of lives.
The prime minister called for best medical help for the injured.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik has ordered the police in NWFP to submit a report on the attack.
