September 21st, 2011 - 7:20 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 21 (IANS) School students can watch the autumnal equinox at the Jantar Mantar here Thursday, an NGO said. An equinox occurs twice a year when the day and night have approximately equal length.
“We have invited school students to witness the autumn equinox as it is one of the best occasions to celebrate this phenomenon using the ancient instruments at Jantar Mantar,” a Science Popularisation Association of Communicators and Educators (SPACE) official said.
“This natural phenomenon provides a unique opportunity for kids to perform experiments,” the official added.
SPACE would also flag off an international citizen science project - “Project Paridhi - Measure the Earth Again”. The project will span across all Asian countries.
