Oct 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Now the sky will no more be the limit. Ask for more and you will get it from the VSS Enterprise’s Virgin Galactic’s craft. The Virgin Group launched its first space ship that would take the ordinary people for a space trip.
The first trial was conducted yesterday for Spaceship Two, which glided to Earth from 45,000ft, proving that it can land the space passengers safely on the earth. Pilot Pete Siebold was the lucky pilot who manned the flight this Sunday after detaching the craft from its mother ship, and flying it over the Mojave Desert, in California, in only 11 minutes. Virgin Galactic president Will Whitehorn, was extremely impressed with Pete Siebold performance and bravery as he was not expected to give such a smooth ride, provided that he was not given an engine. However, Pete Siebold was overwhelmed with the space craft’s performance and said that it was a cake walk for him while dropping it from 45,000ft, the height in which it flew.
Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson thinks that it was a great achievement of mankind and a great moment for him personally. His team is now striving to push the space craft beyond the final frontier of the space before the next year. It want to carry the craft to 56,000ft, powered by its own rocket, before it is fired into the space. Virgin Galactic has 370 customer deposits, with $50 million for commercial flights into space. The people, who now want to take a glimpse of our earth from the space, will now have to pay an amount of 121,000, while making a trip to the space.
