Vatican Astronomer: Aliens with souls are living among the stars

Vatican City, Sep 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A senior Vatican Astronomer, Dr. Guy Consolmagno just stopped at confirming that aliens exist somewhere in the galaxy. Dr. Consolmagno said he would baptize an alien if he were given the chance.

Dr. Consolmagno who was speaking at the British Science Festival said he was comfortable with the idea that aliens exist, stopping short of confirming the issue that has generated a lot of controversies over the years.

He however said that even if aliens exist, the probability of developing a communication with them is rare.

On the issue of soul, Dr. Consolmagno said any entity have a soul debunking belief that only humans may have soul. He was emphatic that any entity has a soul no matter how it looks.

Dr. Consolmagno is 57 years old and he is a trained astronomer and planetary scientist. He is also the curator of the Pope’s meteorite collection. He is a self-confessed science fiction fan does not agree with the theory of “Intelligent Design” that suggest that Darwin’s theory of evolution does not explain all the complexities of life.

The Vatican has been supporting science and funding it for centuries. The Catholic Church currently has some 12 astronomers of which Dr. Consolmagno is an integral part.
