“Use of PlayStation network has been suspended” causing gamers to be up in armsJune 25th, 2008 - 4:56 pm ICT by David M N James
Gamers who logged into their PS3 account were met with the message “use of PlayStation network has been suspended“.
This has infuriated thousands of gamers and has wrecked havoc to PS3 makers as queries on the reason why this is happening bombarded their servers. The PlayStation network suspended its internet based network for maintenance, but there was very little communication prior so that players could prepare.
Customer dissonance is now at peak since they are saying this was unethical practice and they should have been told earlier so as to stay prepared for this. For most of the day on June 24, the PlayStation network suspended all online game play so that it could perform updates and maintenance to the PS3 Store, which can’t be accessed through the PS3 or the PC.
UK gamers were a lucky lot since they were fore warned about the maintenance issue. PS3 gave them a notice through a 6-7 hour window of maintenance.
Weather the PlatStation servers were hacked or not is still unclear.
Hate messages and curses have been trafficking the user and company emails with angry exchanges on going. The shut down has led to gamers to be desperate and confused. The maintenance is still on going and will soon be resolved. It will be a great relief to the PS3 users.
