July 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to Chinese News Media Reports, the sighting of an Unidentified Flying Object led to the shutting down of one of China’s major airports for an hour late Wednesday July 7. Airport officials called it a ‘UFO’.
The major airport located in East China’s Hangzhou City, the Xiaoshan Airport, was closed down for at least 60 minutes after their radar discovered something hovering in the evening sky. The UFO popped onto airport radar at around 9 pm, and the officials began to immediately notify the passengers that they were to stop boarding the planes, and ordered all flights which were about to take off to be grounded, according to ‘Xinhua News’.
Several incoming flights were forced to land in nearby airports of other cities such as Ningbo and Wuxi. Passengers suffered almost four hour flight delays due to the phenomenon.
According to witness accounts and pictures of the object, it was said to have looked like a “twinkling spot” which disappeared very quickly. Stunned witnesses claim to have seen a fiery, comet-like ball in the sky, but airport workers stated that the UFO was only visible on radar and would have been impossible to see with the naked eye.
Just a few hours before the airport closing, however, many residents of Hangzhou claim to have seen a glowing object which was hovering in the sky and making odd movements. A city bus driver by the name of Yu stated that the object moved down toward the ground for about 6 minutes dragging a comet like tail, and then changed direction quickly.
There are some reports that the object had military connections, but that the true identity of the UFO must remain a “government secret” for now. An official explanation is rumored to be coming out on Friday.
