“This site may harm your computer” - Google says about all sites
January 31st, 2009 - 9:54 pm ICT by admin ( 9 comments )At roughly 9:40 pm on 31st Jan 2008 (Thai time GMT +7), any search result on google.com showed the message “This site may harm your computer” for all websites including thaindian.com
We wish to reassure users that thaindian.com does not indulge in these activities and this is a goof up by Google affecting all websites.
The feature(when working correctly) by Google enables users to be warned of websites which may pottentially carry mallware and affect the users computers.
We hope Google fixes it as soon as possible.

I’m glad this got picked up by Google News. I saw the message about 10 mins. ago too and started frantically searching our server rack for breaches but found nothing.
I turned to Google and then Google News to see that this is a Google SERPS sitewide problem.
This problem is not TheIndian.com or Roadfly.com or any other legitimate website.
I’m sure Google Engineers are working on solving the problem ASAP.

This is really surprising. You’d think Google would have some contingencies for this.
With Google down, you can pretty much say the entire WWW is down.

Thank God you’ve posted this warning in the news of today!
I was almost getting desperate, thinking I’d attracted some real malicious virus overnight….
:-)
Thank you, admin!

Google Crashes! Looks like the massive prevention of links to search results will harm the trust the public may have in Google. I will be very curious to hear of the cause. I am also interested in the massive loss of revenue that may have been the result of this error by Google.
