Sonic Boom Rocks Florida

Feb 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sonic Booms have been creating quite a stir be it in the world of games, videos or in the state of Florida. The whole evening of Sunday, people went on to their internet portals in search of a sonic boom that they expected to hear at around 10.00 PM, and sonic boom is what they got. Caused by the re-entering of the space shuttle- Endeavor, the sonic boom seemed to rock the south-west of Florida. The Sonic Boom can be described as “two distinct claps less than a second apart”. The NASA officials had already clarified that the sonic boom would be pretty apparent, and would occur 10 minutes before the shuttle was to make its landing.
While Florida ‘enjoyed’ the noise at around 10.00 PM , the same boom was heard by Collier County just after 10.00 PM, as the shuttle glided overhead. The space-shuttle could have been delayed (so would have been the boom), however, the shuttle and the boom were quite accurate on time. The shuttle carried six lives in the form of astronauts, who returned home safe and ’sound’. The Endeavor’s mission lasted for a couple of weeks, and a lot was achieved during this. The people on-board installed ‘ a new space station, Tranquility and also a big bay window. This will be providing picturesque and sweeping sights of Mother Earth from up above.
The last sonic boom was felt on Wednesday when the residents of Marco Island to Estero could feel some heavy shaking and ratting of doors and windows. The boom was probably caused by the gliding of a military aircraft overhead.
