solarAug 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Scientist have revealed that in the coming two years people will get to see a hoard of solar activities. The NASA scientists have come up with findings that suggest impending solar storms in 2012 that might disrupt the functioning of many electrical gadgets for months. All these will happen as the Sun enters into its 24 Solar Cycle which has already begun. The Solar Cycle 24, that had already begun, according to scientist will come up with 50% stronger solar flares than its immediate predecessor which had created a record itself. The NASA, NOAA and ESA have mentioned that the Sun will reach its maximum activities towards the end of 2011 and into 2012.

Lawrence E. Joseph, a Disaster Expert has voiced that the increase in solar activity might turn out to be Earth’s Katrina. The NASA scientists have reportedly said that the predicted solar storm might affect the electrical power grid of North America for months and also affect the electrical systems all over the world. In the report published by NASA, it has maintained that the solar storm might disrupt power supply which in turn might affect the financial system, banking, communication and government services.

Reports claim that since the solar storm will disrupt the smooth functioning of electrical gadgets it might lead to failure of water pumps and in turn in the supply of drinking water. Some sources claim that the solar storm might lead to loss of some medication and foods items. Solar storms of such significant impact last occurred in 1921. However, at that time it had not disrupted the daily works of life as the use of electricity was not so abundant.
