Shanghai to have 20,000 renewable energy powered cars
October 25th, 2010 - 3:54 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, Oct 25 (IANS) China’s Shanghai city will have about 20,000 cars that run on renewable energy in the next two years, an official said.
Shanghai will have the eco-friendly cars by 2012, city’s Vice Mayor Ai Baojun told the Eighth China Automotive Industry Forum.
Shanghai Daily reported that the city will demonstrate the use of new-energy vehicles in Jiading district.
The country offers rewards of up to 60,000 yuan for those who buy electric cars and 50,000 yuan for those who buy plug-in hybrid cars.
