Secondhand Kindles boom

December 8th, 2008 - 5:31 pm ICT by Bupha Ravirot

Seems to be a very bad news for gadget fans when Amazon Kindle announced the available date has changed from Dec 24 to unidentified date in February of next year. This is an opportunity for those who already own Kindles to raise their gadgets’ prices.

Regarding a survey of Mr. Lance Ulanoff from PC Magazine, more than two-thirds of his Twitter respondents said they would gladly buy a used Amazon Kindle. The price of used units range from $ 359, which is equal to price of the original ones to $ 995 which most of the sellers describe the condition of their Kindles as “Used – Like New.”

Surprisingly, all of the second hand models cost thrice higher than the base Kindle price but people still willing to pay for it. Since the Kindle has been out for a year and enormously popular, so its vanishing during holiday season makes a degree of sense for those who already have it.
