New York, March 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) March 14 is celebrated as Pi Day as the day is read as 3/14 or rather 3.14, which is the value of the pi, though not to the exact. All over US mathematics enthusiasts celebrate this day as the irrational number has made computation relating to circle easier. Many schools in US celebrate the occasion. The famous search engine Google has also gone for a doodle to mark the importance of the irrational number in the field of mathematics and basic computation.
The most famous constant in the field of mathematics is basically a ratio of the circumference to the diameter of a circle. This ratio which ends being 22/7 or 3.1415926535… has in many ways revolutionized the calculation in the field if circles. According to reports, the Greek symbol was first put to use by William Jones back in the year 1707. However, it was Leonhard Euler who used it in 1737 and made it popular.
Pi day, or Mar 14 is also the birth day of Albert Einstein, the great scientist who gave to the world the theory of Relativity. Many Science institutes mark this day not only as the celebration of the irrational decimal constant but also as the birth anniversary of Albert Einstein. The Maryland Science Center will celebrate the day with a function to mark the importance of the Pi. Google has for the day gone for a Google Doodle where it discusses the formulas which use the Pi constant and how these formulas are dependent on the constant whose decimal integers never come to an end.
