Cape Canaveral, June 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) SpaceX Falcon 9 which witnessed a successful maiden flight on Friday has finally offered NASA its much awaited commercial cargo carrier for the International Space Center. Reportedly, NASA has plans to use Falcon 9 to carry astronauts headed towards the International Space Station.
Speaking on the maiden flight success, SpaceX’s founder Elon Musk called it to be “a fantastic day”. He also said that the success of Falcon 9 shall give wings to President Barack Obama’s dreams who was the first one to have proposed that private companies should be given a chance to carve out their own rockets which can be employed by NASA to carry out the resupplying tasks at the International Space Station while NASA can concentrate upon its research on outer space.
Elon Musk, who happens to be the co-founder of PayPal told the media that the success of Falcon 9 proves the worth of Space X which is a small name against many biggies in the business. He even went ahead to call the success to be the “dawn of new era in space exploration”. He is looking forward to the next launch of Falcon 9 which shall have it ready for the cargo transport to the International Space Station.
After that the astronauts can carry on their explorations to the space center.
NASA shall put Falcon 9 in real time use in the upcoming year of 2011 for cargo supply which is soon to be followed by astronauts making a trip to the International Space Station boarding Falcon 9.
Charles Bolden, the NASA Administrator called Falcon 9 to be the first major step for commercial transportation which in his opinion is highly beneficial for NASA.
