Paypal Millionaire’s Rocket Launch Could Herald A New Epoch For Space Exploration

June 6, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): A millionaire’s test rocket commenced its initial voyage on Friday and effectively arrived at orbit in a dummy run for NASA’s push towards commercialization.

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket accomplished Earth orbit nine minutes into the flight as intended. This achievement magnetized commendation from NASA, the White House and others keen for the company to again begin supplying the International Space Station.

A high-spirited Elon Musk, SpaceX’s originator, stated that this was a genuinely fabulous moment. He declared that Friday’s launch enables the justification of President Barack Obama’s intention to assign to the private companies the responsibility of transporting consignment and, at last, human beings to the space station. This allocation will supply NASA a wonderful opportunity to zoom in on true outer space.

Musk, the co-founder of PayPal, has declared that this portends very well for the Obama initiative. It demonstrates that even a tiny and new company like SpaceX can contribute constructively.

In a telephone news meeting, Musk mentioned that congratulatory margaritas were on his direct radar. However, he is already looking forward to the next Falcon 9 that is to be launched this summer and, with any luck, looking forward to the initial cargo run to the space station in 2011. Astronauts could be the next step within three years of the company acquiring an endorsement from NASA. Musk declared that, probably, common citizens could follow in five to six years.

Musk excitedly asserted that this is a momentous moment and one that will ensure the democratization of space. This will increase the ease of access to space.
