“At Micromax, we try and add features to a mobile phone so that it helps the user in day-to-day forms. This phone - Micromax MTV X360 - has a feature whereby a specific sound at a certain hertz is played and it helps in shooing away mosquitoes in immediate surroundings,” Rahul Sharma, executive director of Micromax, told reporters.
The phone is part of a licensing deal between Micromax and MTV. As part of the deal, the former will launch a range of co-branded mobile handsets in the market.
The first to hit the market in the first quarter of 2010 will be Micromax MTV X360, a music-oriented handset, priced at Rs.4,999.
The handset is powered by 3D surround sound and has other features such as 8 GB expandable memory, dual SIM facility, 1.3 mega pixel camera, et al.
