Now, a management university conducts online tests
January 31st, 2010 - 8:42 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 31 (IANS) After the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), over 5,500 candidates successfully took the first ever computer-based test for admission to the management programmes of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Sunday, on the second day of the test.
The NMAT, as the deemed university calls its test, is being conducted at 51 centres in 19 cities by Pearson VUE.
“The feedback on the NMAT online testing experience from candidates has been very positive. The tests were rolled out smoothly at all the centres as per plan,” said Anupam Rastogi, chairman of the NMAT admissions committee.
This is the first year that the NMAT has gone online. Nearly 40,000 admission seekers are taking the test in India, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
The two-hour test is designed on a multiple-choice question format that includes a set of questions in language skills, quantitative skills, data interpretation and data sufficiency and logical reasoning.
The test was held in Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur and Lucknow in north India; Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Nagpur in west; Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin and Hyderabad in south; Allahabad, Bhopal, Indore and Raipur in central India; and Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Kolkata and Patna in the eastern part of the country.
