Nepal’s Mobile Company Ncell Assures 3G Network On Mount Everest!

Mount EverestNov 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The mountaineers have a reason to rejoice as with the advent of technology the telecommunication network has expanded its horizon to the peak of World’s highest mountain Mount Everest. A reputed Nepali telecom firm has announced that by the end of the tear it will be providing third generation (3G) mobile coverage to the at the summit of Mount Everest. The officials of Ncell has recently announced the news to the media in one of its press conference.

Mount Everest is the famed tourist attraction where it requires a permit of approximately $25,000 to climb. However, now the mountaineers will be able to will be able to connect to the rest of the world while they are at the peak of the mountain and can even talk via internet and video calls. The company has announced that by the end of 2011 Ncell will provide mobile coverage to more than 90 people of Nepal. Lars Nyberg, the CEO of Swedish-based TeliaSonera (Ncell’s parent company) said that they are proud to announce the world’s highest mobile data as they launch 3G services in the Mount Everest area in the Khumbu Valley.

Lars Nyberg also added that 3G high internet service will bring in faster and more affordable telecommunication services to the people, climbers and even trekkers of Khumbu valley. A reputed media source reported that the network will run at the speed of 3.6MB per second and later it will increase up to 7.2MB per second when there will be more demand of it. The media outlets are of the opinion that the 3G network will be beneficial for trekkers and climbers as they can receive information about the weather reports and safety informations while they are climbing the mountain.
