NASA Announces Press Meet To Discuss ‘Extraterrestrial Life’

Washington, Dec 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A press release issued by NASA declaring ‘an astrobiology finding’ has managed to create an uproar in various quarters. The United States based space agency has created waves by its announcement of a press conference on Thursday where it intends to discuss about a landmark scientific finding that might hold testimony to the presence of life beyond planet Earth. Despite the fact that NASA has declined to issue any comments in this regard before the news conference, speculations have been ripe in the blogosphere as believers in alien life are eagerly waiting for the press meet scheduled to take place later today.
A statement that has been released in the official website of the space agency reads that a news conference would be held on Thursday afternoon in which details of an ‘astrobiology finding’ that would provide an impetus to the search for the evidence of extraterrestrial life. The researchers who are likely to speak at the conference include Pamela Conrad, an astrobiologistat associated with the space agency’s Goddard Space Flight Center, NASA’s astrobiology program head Mary Voytek as well as Felisa Wolfe-Simon, who is a NASA astrobiology research fellow working with the US Geological Survey.
It does not come as a surprise that the announcement made by NASA has been welcomed by space enthusiasts as well as those who believe in alien life with speculations about the presence of extraterrestrial beings running immensely high. However, skeptics have brushed away the buzz about the discovery of alien life beyond planet Earth emphasizing that the presence of extraterrestrial life is quite unlikely.
