wonApr 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The northern region of Illinois and other Midwestern areas were greeted with the spectacle of meteor shower, according to reports. The National Weather Service in the region has reportedly revealed that meteor shower took place on Wednesday night.

Nathan Marsili, a National Weather Service, Chicago based meteorologist has revealed to news sources that meteor sightings have been reported from parts of Wisconsin as well as Iowa during late Wednesday night. However, the meteorologist has clarified that despite the fact that a minor blip was spotted in the radar, as of now it cannot be confirmed whether the blip was indeed a meteor. At the same time, the fact that a meteor had been spotted in the region was also reported from the news sources in Minnesota, Michigan, among others. Although certain reports are stating that a meteor was seen, others are also highlighting the theory that the spectacle could have resulted from a space junk entering the atmosphere of the earth rather than a meteor.

Meanwhile, in Wisconsin, news sources reported to have received incessant calls from residents in the area who revealed that they had seen a fireball in the sky. The Sheriff’s department in Northeast Wisconsin is also said to have been intimated by residents about the visibility of fireballs in the sky although no reports have been available regarding whether the fireballs actually hit the ground. The Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences of the University of Wisconsin-Madison is reported to have retrieved a number of pictures of the meteor shower that was visible from Madison.
