New Delhi, Dec 31 (IANS) Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor tweeted again Thursday describing the meeting with his boss S.M. Krishna Wednesday as “excellent”.
“Excellent mtg (meeting) w (with) EAM (External Affairs Minister S.M.) Krishna on wide range of fp (foreign policy) issues,” he said on his twitter account.
Tharoor requested the meeting after controversy over his opposition to the stricter visa guidelines in his Twitter posts last week.
After the Wednesday meeting, Krishna told reporters that “everyone will have to fall on the same page” once the visa policy is formulated.
The ministry of home affairs introduced new visa guidelines Nov 4 that envisage a mandatory two-month cooling off period between two visits by a foreigner coming on long-term Indian tourist visa to India.
New entry regulations were introduced in the wake of disclosures on the abuse of tourist visas by 26/11 Mumbai terror attack suspect David Coleman Headley, an American of Pakistani origin.
