Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 6 (IANS) IBS Software, headquartered here, was awarded the ‘IT Provider of the Year’ in 2012 for the air cargo industry, an IBS statement said Thursday.

The award was announced at the Payload Asia Conference in Singapore, a premier global industry event attended by leading representatives of the aviation industry.

Established in 1984, Singapore-based Payload Asia is a widely-read trade journal on the air cargo industry and an authoritative source of accurate, up-to-date news and information.

The award is based on an independent on-line poll world-wide of stakeholders in the air cargo industry.

IBS was adjudged the winner, based on three parameters - relevance and currency of offering, product innovation and range of value added services provided.

IBS’ iCargo, developed in collaboration with six leading airlines, has now emerged as a definitive cargo management solution in the industry with over 20 leading cargo carriers adopting it to replace their legacy systems.

The list of IBS clients include All Nippon Airways, Austrian Airlines, Kingfisher Airlines, Nippon Cargo Airways, Qantas Freight, S7 Cargo, SpiceJet, South African Airways, Jetblue Airways and Cargoitalia.
