India tests nuke capable Prithvi II missile
June 9th, 2011 - 11:02 am ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, June 9 (IANS) India Thursday test-fired its homegrown nuclear-capable Prithvi II missile from a defence base in Orissa, defence sources said.
The surface to surface missile with range of 350 km was test-fired from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur-on-sea in Balasore district, about 230 km from here, as part of user trial.
Prithvi is India’s first indigenously built ballistic missile. It is one of the five missiles being developed under country’s Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme.
