Idea, BSNL face maximum call drop complaints
March 16th, 2011 - 9:33 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 16 (IANS) Despite massive campaigns promising respite from call drops and superior network, telecom service provider Idea Cellular is one among the few operators who are facing the problem of frequent call drops, the Lok Sabha was informed Wednesday.
Also accused are the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) and Etisalat.
“As regards the parameter, BSNL, Etisalat and Idea are not meeting the prescribed benchmark,” Minister of State for Communications and IT Sachin Pilot said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
The quality of service provided by an operator against the standard laid down by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is monitored by the regulator from time to time through the performance monitoring report submitted by service providers.
