Cape Canaveral, June 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The maiden flight of SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket met with success on Friday as it blasted off right towards the sky from the launchpad. Reportedly, Spacex Falcon 9 happens to be the very first iteration of private rockets which is destined to carry astronauts in the upcoming days.
As a matter of fact, the first launch attempt of Spacex Falcon 9 was called off as one of the engine parts fell out. Following the flight, a Spacex spokesperson told the media that the rocket reached orbit but they weren’t sure of the altitude.
The Falcon 9 shall fulfill the aim of US President Barack Obama who had declared on an earlier note that he wants the rocket to act as the carrier for all astronauts heading towards the International Space Center.
The rocket measures 180-foot and when released, it reached the orbit at 160 miles. As predicted by the experts, the rocket shall be the official vehicle for all space crew heading their way to the International Space Center in the upcoming year of 2011.
Following the successful launch of the rocket, NASA Administrator Charles F. Bolden Jr. told the media that this is an important as well as an landmark moment in the history of America.
He also said that he will be looking forward to the day when Falcon 9 shall be carrying cargo to the International Space Station. SpaceX Falcon 9 is seemingly the only one in the business which happens to be a private and less expensive vehicle compared to others in the same category.
As days go by, NASA shall witness companies like Lockheed Martin and Boeing joining the crew to craft out more personalized aircraft.
