Couples Smell Emotions, How?

June 3, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Can your partner smell your emotions or are you able to read the emotions of your partner by just smelling the sweat? Yes, this is an established fact now.

In a new study by the Rice University in Houston, the researchers collected sweat from some 20 heterosexual volunteers via armpit pads. This collection was done during the sessions in which they were asked to watch various videos in order to induce particular emotions like fear, happiness and sexual arousal.

The partners of the volunteers’ are then asked to go through the sniff test. The armpit pads were put in the jars and the respective partners tried to identify the emotion of the opposite sex. Surprisingly, almost two thirds of the tests were successful. This test was conducted with the couples, who have stayed together for one to seven years. Couples living together for a longer time, showed the best results.

This study has given another reason for discarding perfumes it will make your partner understand you better. So, all you heterosexual couples get ready to control your emotions or your sweat can expose you to your partner.

Even the romantically linked partners could identify each other’s feelings two-thirds of the time, reports the Science News.

Now, you don’t need to express yourself to your partner every time, your sweat will do that!
