Mumbai, Sep 15 (IANS) Telecom operators Cable and Wireless India and the state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) have signed an agreement to offer telecom services and share networks and infrastructure, the two companies announced Monday.As per the agreement, Cable and Wireless will support BSNL to expand its global network, apart from leveraging the state-owned operator’s extensive network reach across the country.
“We have plans to invest roughly $10 billion on network expansion over the next three years,” BSNL chairman and managing director Kuldeep Goyal said.
“Partnering Cable and Wireless will allow us to have one of the most resilient network infrastructures available.”
According to Goyal, the IT and telecom needs of any enterprises are huge. “BSNL will aim to become a one-stop shop for all their requirements in terms of voice, data, networks, security and applications,” he said.
Cable and Wireless managing director Sunanda Das said the tie-up will help the company focus on identifying and delivering a range of services.
The companies will also offer each other a full suite of telecom services including basic, leased line and local lead services, Internet, and mobile and broadband services on a preferred client basis.
