dinoMar 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The death of the dinosaurs may have been brought about by not an earthquake or an advancing, completely different era, but an invasion from outer space. That is, it might have been an asteroid that had crushed the monstrous reptiles to death. Researches that have been conducted on this phenomenon for the many years since the existence of the beings came into light, have mostly pointed to this fact. However, a lot of the research being based on evidence from a million years back have led to a lot of speculation. Consequently, no concrete theory had been propounded.

However, the latest researches conducted by 41 scientists all over the world has also pointed to the conclusion that has over and over again been stressed over the years. The study involved the analysis of data that have been accumulated over the last twenty years. In the end, the scientists reached to the conclusion that a huge asteroid had collided with the earth almost 65 million years back, and wiped out the giant reptiles that had walked the earth for 160 million years. According to the researchers, the whole process had been complete in mere days.

The scientists claim that the asteroid had crashed into the Yucatan Peninsula, near Mexico, at a speed of 12.4 miles per second, and it had hit the earth at 90 degrees. The scientists insist that any living being in the vicinity where the asteroid crashed would have been scorched to death. The collision led to a major change on the climate of the earth, leading to an untimely Ice Age, and starvation for those of the dinosaurs that survived the impact. Added to that, the reptiles possibly could not adapt to the sudden change in environment.
